দায়িত্ব ও প্রেক্ষাপট (Job Context and Responsibilities)
Job Context:
This role is focused on the international readymade garments market. It requires hands-on experience with international fashion/lifestyle brands and factory-level coordination. Candidates with purely export-oriented merchandising backgrounds only be the right fit for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development
Manage end-to-end product development, from design concept to final production
Develop, review, and approve samples, ensuring accuracy in fit, measurements, fabric, color, and construction details
Contribute to new product launches and seasonal collection planning in line with market trends and brand direction
Costing & Pricing
Prepare detailed product costings and ensure products meet target margins and competitive international market price points
Apply strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and manufacturers
Analyze international pricing strategies to keep products competitively positioned in the market
Sourcing
Source fabrics, trims, accessories, and other materials from both local and international suppliers
Build and maintain strong, reliable relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and sourcing partners
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery reliability
Production Coordination
Coordinate closely with design, production, quality, and sourcing teams to ensure smooth and timely product development
Monitor production timelines at the factory level and proactively resolve sourcing, costing, or development-related issues
Ensure garment construction and production processes align with brand quality standards
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate merchandising documentation, costing sheets, and development trackers using Microsoft Excel
Provide regular updates to management on product development status, costing, and sourcing progress
Other
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
Candidate Requirements (as specified):
Male candidates only, age 28+
Minimum 4 years' experience in Merchandising, Product Development, or Sourcing
Must have local fashion brand/garments experience with factory-level exposure
Strong knowledge of apparel costing, fabric sourcing, trims, and garment construction
Solid understanding of international market and pricing strategy
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Excel and merchandising documentation

- Masters
Preference for Textile Engineering

- At least 8 years
